Behind the Fabric
Cara Ucci has been an international fashion designer for over 20 years. She began in India, creating a line of semi-precious gemstone jewelry and one-of-a-kind garments from vintage textiles. A passion for India's artisanal crafts and cultural nuances were sources of inspiration and resulted in deep, lasting friendships and enrichment.
After 12 years, her desire to work with and elevate women in business led her to expand into a lifestyle clothing brand. Indonesia provided accessible and localized production with many innovative fabric choices, so she moved her new ideas to Bali and partnered with a female-owned and run family production facility. Once a year, she visits to create her latest collection while connecting and strengthening her bonds throughout the community. While there, Cara volunteers to raise awareness for local environmental concerns while empowering local girls and women.
As an artist, she enjoys digital photography and shoots her own content, capturing the authentic essence when intent, design, and subject are all one. As an outdoor enthusiast and international traveler, Cara draws inspiration from various art forms, colors, textures, and organic patterns. To get the most out of every moment, she believes that everything in life should be versatile.
Inclusiveness and mindfulness apply to all aspects of her creative process, from the healthy environment where her designs come to life, to the talented people who make them, and to YOU.
